Jewelry wholesaler Orly Maor, who asked that we not show her face, was running errands Thursday. When she got home she opened her trunk.
“It was empty,” she recalled.
All of her merchandise was gone.
"I mean my heart just stopped beating I couldn't believe it, I thought maybe I am hallucinating or something maybe I am imagining."
But what appeared to be a bad dream quickly became a real life nightmare.
“It was horrible, horrible feeling."
Maor had hundreds of pieces of jewelry totaling $300,000 dollars in her car to be distributed to merchants at hotels, malls and in Waikiki.
"A lot of this and this is the most expensive stuff this is almost like $10,000 dollars."
She said she usually puts the inventory in a safe at a bank but was too busy to drop it off Thursday.
“I will have no business and no way of having income and it will be terrible for me because I have three kids and I need the merchandise back its very important for me that's all I have.”
Two of her children are in college and she says this was her life savings.
"I will have to start all over and it wont be easy, I don't know how I am going to do with all my payments and stuff.">
As she back tracks her steps Maor remembers stopping at Nordstrom Rack, Ben Franklin Crafts, Ross and then home, she went back to Ross and asked to see surveillance footage.
"Their camera didn't show anything was breaking into the car at all cause the camera was on my car the whole time."
But security at Nordstrom rack revealed surveillance photos of a possible suspect.
“The security says that yes they see something, something suspicious that somebody is walking by my car and checking inside the trunk."
She says she was at Nordstrom Rack Thursday at 3:30 in the afternoon.
“I guess they were very fast these guys."
Police say they are looking for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious or know anything about this case, they also warn conducting business with this much merchandise in your car is cause for concern.
