More than a dozen cats were seized from a Waimanalo property Tuesday afternoon.

Hawaiian Humane Society officials said there were about 50 cats on the property, but they only removed the animals that were in the worst condition.

Thirteen cats are being checked for respiratory ailments, eye injuries, skin infections, and checked by veterinarians.

The Hawaiian Humane Society has opened an official animal cruelty case.
