A fire destroyed a house in Kailua Wednesday morning. One of the residents of the house was actress Evangeline Lilly, a star from the t-v show "lost." Lilly left the house before the fire started.

There isn't much left of the three-bedroom house in Enchanted Lake. Neighbors reported seeing thick black smoke and huge flames that were moving fast.

"Oh extremely fast. It was just erupting throughout the whole house. I walked out to the sidewalk and I saw flames shoot toward the other side of the house, just like a flame thrower," said a neighbor.

Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate in the T-V show "Lost," rents the house with two women. One of them is her stunt double. No one was in the house during the fire. Neighbors say Lilly had left early to go on location to tape the show.

Neighbor Esther Tokars said, "i'm glad she's not here. I'm glad nobody's here." (she's a good neighbor, I take it?) , oh yeah but we don't bother her."

Her co-star and boyfriend, Dominic Monaghan, visibly upset, came to the house to see the damage. He chose not to comment on camera. Honolulu firefighters got the call at 6-43 in the morning, and feared that someone might have been trapped at first, because a truck was still parked in the driveway.

Honolulu Fire Captain Kenison Tejada said, "Our primary search turned up nothing. It was negative. We regrouped and we did a secondary search, it was also negative. Nobody was found in the house.">

Firefighters and neighbors were relieved that no one was hurt. Captain Tejada says the house burned down so fast that it'll take a closer investigation just to find out where the fire started.

"The fire was pretty much on both sides of the house, both on the windward and the leeward side, so it's hard to say where the fire might have started," said Tejada.

Tejada says initial inspection shows there was no Christmas tree in the house, so it's not likely that the fire was caused by Christmas lights being left on.
