Explosion Victim's Family Visits Campbell Industrial Park

By Brianne Randle

Investigators have yet to determine what caused a deadly explosion that killed a 23-year old welder yesterday in Campbell Industrial park.

Family members went to the scene today to mourn the loss of a brother, husband and father.

Sean Norva had recently gotten married and was about to celebrate his son's first birthday.

Less than 24-hours after receiving news of their brother...siblings of 23-year-old Sean Norva came to say goodbye.

"He was doing so good, and just to know that he's gone," said Norva's sister Gretchen Guillermo. "It's hard..."

Norva died Tuesday when the oil storage tank he was working on exploded.

"I didn't even get to say goodbye to him I didn't even see him before he left for work."

The force of the explosion hurled the tank and a metal grate into a neighboring property. Three others were injured in the blast.

" I was really close to him, i looked up to him, and he was the strongest person I know and it sucks that he's gone now he's not coming back."

Norva was born and raised on Oahu. And had recently moved back home from Las Vegas to be closer to his sisters. Just two months ago he married his high-school sweetheart.

"She still doesn't believe that he's dead, that he's gone."

Next month he would have celebrated his son Khelen's first birthday.

"and his son looks just like him too."

"Just to find that he can't be here anymore and I don't believe it still," said Norva's sister Jen Piloton. "A lot we can't even eat, talk nothing."

Norva leaves behind 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

"He was a good father, a good husband, and a good brother and a good son to all of us. It's hard, he's a good guy. He's always gonna be there in my heart no matter what."

Norva's family is planning funeral arrangements.

It is still unclear what sparked the explosion. The Department of Labor and the Honolulu Fire Department are each completing an investigation.
