A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for a new target store on the Big Island.

The 160,000 square foot store is being built at the Kona Commons shopping complex.

It will be Hawaii's third target and is scheduled to be completed by May of next year.

Target is looking to hire as many as 350 employees for the Kona store.

Construction on two target stores on Oahu is already underway.

The Kapolei and Salt Lake stores are expected to open next March.
