A 63-year-old woman is in critical condition after a near drowning on Maui.
The incident happened just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Maui Fire Department personnel and Ocean Safety officials responded to Honolua Bay after someone on shore noticed a woman in the water yelling for help.
Rescuers found the woman unconscious and faced down in the water.
The victim was pulled to shore where firefighters performed CPR.
She was then taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Officials say the woman, a visitor from Mount Vernon, Wash., was snorkeling in the area.
