Rainbow Warrior baseball head coach Mike Trapasso has hired a new assistant.
Trapasso announced Carl Fraticelli will assume the role of the team's new hitting coach.
"Coach Frat", as he's been termed, has spent the last 3-seasons as a volunteer assistant with UH, working the first base box during games.
But a full-time spot opened up when former pitching coach Chad Konishi was let go earlier this summer.
Trapasso will take a more direct role working with the pitchers going forward.
While Fraticelli, a Kalaheo graduate who played his college ball at LMU, is hoping to help the bows improve on 2-39 team batting average last season.
The first runner to cross the finish line of the 2013 Honolulu Marathon was Gilbert Chepkwony who finished in 2:18:47.
