A car hit a fire hydrant just after 10:30 Friday morning causing water to shoot nearly four stories high.
Before fire crews arrived, Honolulu police closed all four lanes on Ala Moana Boulevard in the westbound direction near Kalia Road.
Less than a hour later all westbound lanes were reopened.
