A Board of Water Supply contractor will be working at the Ward Avenue and South King Street intersection Monday night to install new water service connections.
The work will take place from 8:30 p.m. Monday to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The night work will close one mauka-bound lane and one makai-bound lane on Ward Avenue, as well as two lanes on the mauka side of South King Street.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible. Drivers traveling through the construction area are asked to abide by the posted traffic signs and to allow for additional travel time.
This construction activity is part of the ongoing Water System Improvement Project on Ward Avenue from Kinau Street to Kapiolani Boulevard.
When completed, the project will enhance water service to area residents and businesses by improving fire protection and reducing the likelihood of water main breaks.
