Suspect charged in First Hawaiian Bank robbery in Kapahulu

The suspect linked to a bank robbery on Kapahulu Avenue over the weekend has been charged.

On Saturday, Sept. 19, police say Frederick Funaki walked into First Hawaiian Bank, demanded money and fled.

The 31-year-old was arrested the following Monday, Sept. 21, in Kaimuki. He has no local address.

According to police, Funaki was arrested for second-degree robbery, but charged with second-degree theft.

His bail was set at $25,000.
