The Final Round of the 105th Manoa Cup took place today at the Oahu Country Club, where former University of Hawaii golfer and Mililani graduate Jared Sawada out-lasted recent Kalani grad and Sony Open veteran Richard Hattori in the greuling 36-hole match play final, 2-and-1.
The longest continuously running tournament in the state and 4th-longest in the country is no doubt the most prestigious in Hawaii.
Sawada now etches his name among the legends of Hawaii amateur golf along with the trophy and championship jacket.
Sawada took the traditional dip into the OCC pool where he was later joined by his caddy, Travis Isono.
Both Sawada and Hattori are planning on turning pro in the next few months and both are hoping to start their careers in Japan.
