Hawaiian Electric Company crews worked overnight to restore power to residents in Ahuimanu area.
The outage started shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Initially, about 1,500 customers in the Ahuimanu area were affected. Crews evacuated a section of damaged underground power cables in order to make necessary repairs.
HECO crews completed repairs and all power was restored to affected customers by 4 a.m. Thursday.
At least 40 students got sick and 27 of them were taken to the hospital. Officials are now taking a look at what the kids ate for lunch.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of an elderly man in Chinatown.
