Honolulu police have reopened a portion of Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawa following a report of a brush fire Wednesday afternoon.
The highway was closed in both directions between Whitmore Avenue and Pineapple Variety Garden for about an hour.
According to Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Terry Seelig, the fire has burned approximately 50 acres.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze by about 4:50 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
