A big change is about to be made affecting how shoppers get into and around Ala Moana Center.
The Piikoi Street level entrance will permanently close to vehicles and pedestrians on July 5.
The entrance will close so General Growth Properties can begin expanding the portion of its mall where Sears used to be.
The retail space is expected to double and then Bloomingdale's will move in along with other tenants.
The new stores are expected to open in 2015.

The first runner to cross the finish line of the 2013 Honolulu Marathon was Gilbert Chepkwony who finished in 2:18:47.
