The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says a 6.5-magnitude earthquake was reported near Tonga.
Officials say the earthquake was reported at 11:08 a.m. (HST) Thursday.
The PTWC says based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat for Hawaii.
