The attorney for a Honolulu nightclub owner says his client is innocent and can't wait to fight the charges.
Michael Miske is part owner of the M Nightclub.
He and his co-defendant John Stancil pleaded not guilty to assault charges in connection with an incident six months ago.
Miske is also charged with criminal property damage.
"We have reason to believe that the complainant in this case is financially motivated and is anxious to take advantage of Mr. Miske's business holding and pending legal matters," defense attorney Thomas Otake said.
The assault happened back in December, a few weeks before the assault of an NFL Pro Bowl player.
Both Miske and Stancil are charged in that case as well.
