NOAA officials say a monk seal was found dead on the southwest side of Kauai Monday.
They say he was an adult male.
Officials say they don't know why the seal died, but have ruled out any type of suspicious activity.
They are running tests on tissues and are still waiting on the results.
With 200 monk seals in the main Hawaiian islands, it is not abnormal for one to die onshore.
The cause of death is not determined at this time.
The seal's remains will be cremated.
About 40 students got sick and 25 of them, along with two adults, were taken to the hospital. Officials are now taking a look at what they ate for lunch.
Honolulu police are investigating two armed robberies that may be connected.
Hawaii has been ranked the healthiest state in the nation. It's a nice jump from second place last year by the United Health Foundation.
