Maui police are investigating a fatal shooting in Lahaina.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon during a firearms education safety class at the Ukumehame Firing Range.
According to police, one of the attendees included a 44-year-old woman of Napili.
Police say at about 1:40 p.m., the woman -- without any indications -- loaded a .22 caliber revolver, placed the barrel of the gun under her chin, and pulled the trigger. The instructors who witnessed the incident did not have time to react before the weapon was fire.
The woman's identity has not been released at this time.
The case remains under investigation.
