Maui Police say two men wearing hooded sweaters and masks carrying guns entered the Minit Stop store in Wailuku and began demanding money from the store cashiers.
It happened around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old man began threatening customers in the store when they suddenly bolted and ran from the store after hearing police sirens.
They say the two men ran off toward Waiale Drive and Nani Street.
A third person, a 23-year-old man who was acting as the get away driver drove off in a gray Nissan pick-up truck, heading mauka on Main Street.
When police arrived, they chased after the two men who ran off and arrested the men fronting the Nani Street Apartments.
Police also recovered the weapons used in the robbery at the same location.
The man who drove off was later located by police after traffic enforcement officers in Kihei observed the man speeding and cutting in and out of traffic heading towards Lahaina.
The driver was stopped at Honoapiilani Highway at Maalaea.
Police arrested all three men, and have opened an investigation.
No injuries were reported.
