Personnel from Marine Corps Base Hawaii will conduct an aircraft mishap drill in Windward Oahu on Tuesday.
The drill will take place about a mile offshore of Pyramid Rock Beach near Kaneohe Bay.
Residents in Kailua and Kaneohe may see aircraft and watercraft activities between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Also during that time, local and military emergency vehicles will respond to exercise incidents. Residents may see smoke from flares between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Officials say the drill will focus on communication requirements for all subordinate, lateral and higher agencies and is designed to enhance aviation safety by simulating events that could occur if there were an actual mishap.
