Honolulu Police charged 38-year-old Edward Ham for unauthorized entry in a dwelling Tuesday.
Police say Ham walked through the front door of a unit that was unlocked at the Waena Apartments.
The woman who lives in the home told police she woke up on her couch and noticed a stranger sitting next to her.
Bail for Ham is $20,000 and he remains in police custody.
