Man faces manslaughter charge after punching man outside Waikiki bar

HONOLULU (KHON2) - An Oahu man is charged with manslaughter after court documents say he attacked another man outside a Waikiki bar.

It happened on February 20, outside the Irish Rose Saloon. Court documents say the incident was caught on surveillance camera.

According to court documents, the victim, Pil Sung Kim was right outside the bar's entrance when another man came up to Kim and punched him two times in the face.

Kim fell back onto the concrete, hitting his head. He was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted for possibly having a seizure.

Kim died in the hospital a week later. An autopsy determined he died from injuries to his brain from blunt force trauma. On March 8, police say they identified Cesarin Perez as the man caught on camera punching Kim.

Perez was arrested and charged. He remains in police custody on $500,000 bail.
