Board of Water Supply crews are responding to a break to an 6-inch fire hydrant lateral on Kalakaua Avenue.
The incident was reported at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. The break repairs were completed by 6:30 p.m.
No customers are affected by the break.
The two far left westbound lanes and the far left eastbound lane of Kalakaua Avenue between Ala Wai Boulevard and McCully Street will remain closed as crews are working to backfill the waterline and will be conducting repairs to the road.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to use alternate routes where possible. Repairs to the roadway will continue into the late evening and possibly through tomorrow morning.
