A bicyclist died Saturday afternoon after being hit by a truck.
It happened around 12:15 p.m. on Honoapiilani Highway at the intersection of Kapunakea Street.
The bicyclist is identified as 33 year-old Gary Dean Kahunanui of Lahaina.
Police say he was riding his bike on Kapunakea Street, ran the red light, and was hit by a truck that had the green light.
Kahunanui died at the scene.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
The truck driver was not injured.
Sources tell KHON2 that state Department of Health Director Loretta Fuddy died in a plane crash off Molokai.
