Police have identified a man whose body was recovered from Kalalau Valley.
The man was identified as Sean Michael Rollnick, 43.
On Saturday, June 11, at around 9 a.m., lifeguards were notified of a body near the shoreline of Kalalau Beach.
Hanalei lifeguards confirmed the body was located along a remote portion of the rocky shoreline.
Rescue 3 recovered and transported the body to Wilcox Medical Center.
An autopsy performed last week determined that the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma consistent with falling from a cliff.
However, there was no identification found with the body and, at the time, there was no missing person reported that matched the man's description.
A few days later, a friend reported Rollnick missing. He had not been seen or heard from since Wednesday, June 8.
Kauai police were able to positively identify the body earlier this week as that of Rollnick through fingerprint analysis. Detectives then notified Rollnick's next of kin.
Rollnick reportedly lived on Kauai on and off for several years, but he did not have a permanent address.
Foul play is not suspected in the cause of his death.
