A motorcyclist was medevaced to Queen's Medical Center Friday evening after sustaining serious injuries in a traffic crash in Koloa.
The 37-year-old Koloa man was heading north on Maluhia Road near Anne Knudsen Park at approximately 4:54 p.m. when he crashed into a southbound pick-up truck that was turning left onto Emi Road.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.
Maluhia Road was closed for approximately three hours following the crash. Traffic was diverted to Ala Kinoiki Road. and Koloa Road.
Thousands gathered at the memorial to pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and to those who survived.

It may take drivers a little longer to get around this weekend. On Sunday, there will be lane and road closures for the Honolulu Marathon.
