A Lihue man was arrested on Saturday after his pickup truck was pulled into the ocean by a wave.
The incident happened at about 4 p.m. at Lydgate Beach on Kauai.
Kauai Police say 38-year-old Norman Akana was driving his truck along the beach behind the Wailua Golf Course when his truck was struck by a wave and was pulled into the surf.
Three tow companies were needed to remove the truck from the ocean.
Akana was arrested for drunk driving, refusal to submit to testing, and reckless driving.
He remains in police custody on $4,000 bail.
