Two suspected copper thieves are behind bars tonight.
Police say they tried to steal from a construction contractor around 5:30 Saturday morning.
Police say one man took items out of a storage area, while the other man served as the lookout.
48-year-old Robert Bryan and 32-year-old Jerel Cayaban were arrested near the intersection of Kuala Street and Kamehameha Highway.
They were booked for theft and copper theft.
Charges are pending.
§708-835.7 Theft of copper. (1) A person commits the offense of theft of copper if the person commits theft of copper that weighs a pound or more, but not including legal tender of the United States.
(2) Theft of copper is a class C felony.
