Honolulu Police and the Honolulu Fire Department were called to the Pali lookout Tuesday morning after the body of an adult male was found.
Firefighters used a helicopter to locate the body found below the lookout.
Due to bad weather, firefighters used a rope system to retrieve the body at about 10 a.m.
"This is most likely related to a case that the police have opened on a missing person, however, nothing can be confirmed as far as identity of manner of death," Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
The lookout was closed for about two-and-half-hours while fire and police crews retrieved the body.
