A 23-year-old woman who was rescued after falling 300 feet from the Puu Manamana Trail was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened just after noon in Windward Oahu on the trail better known as Crouching Lions.
The woman was hiking with two others when she slipped and fell off the trail.
She was airlifted out of the area and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The woman was pronounced dead just after 1:30 p.m.
On Monday, the Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Elizabeth Tarpey of Kapolei.
UPDATE: One person is dead following a plane crash in waters off Kalaupapa, Molokai, according to Maui Fire Department officials.
