A Hawaii's Most Wanted fugitive was arrested in New York.
A mix-up led to his release.
Marcell Porter is wanted by Honolulu police on two warrants.
He was arrested at a church in New York for trespassing and was taken into custody.
According to Crimestoppers, the Honolulu Police Department was notified but by the time they got back to New York authorities, Porter was released because he was picked up on a misdemeanor charge.
Crimestoppers say authorities plan to locate Porter and extradite him back to Hawaii.
