This week, Sacred Hearts Academy Senior, Sara Tashima participated in the National Rifle Association (NRA) Junior Air Gun Championship and the National Air Rifle Junior Olympics in Anniston, Alabama.
Tashima placed 5th individually overall in the NRA competition and won second place in the standing shooting competition. She qualified for the NRA National Postal Match Team, a match in which competitors fire on their home ranges using targets which have been marked for identification. The fired targets are then sent to NRA for scoring and ranking for awards.
During the National Air Rifle Junior Olympics, Tashima was awarded the "The Excellence in Competition" badge (EIC) by accruing thirty match points in her career as an air rifle competitor.
