The Hawaii State Judiciary says someone claiming to be a court employee is calling people and leaving voice mail messages, saying the callee is a respondent in a protective order case.
The caller asks the callee to call him or her back to provide additional information.
The judiciary says they do not call anyone to obtain personal information over the phone.
Anyone who receives a call from a person claiming to be with the court, and asking for a social security number and date of birth, should call police.
