Hawaii County Police say the fire on 38th Avenue in the Orchidland Estates subdivision destroyed a home on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on May 30 in Puna area.
Authorities say that the Hawaii Fire Department Arson Canine Team determined that the fire was deliberately set.
Officials say the home is valued around $155,000.
