On Monday, other pastors and church members gathered at New Hope Church Honolulu to take a stand against the Freedom to Marry Act in Hawaii.
"Because the will of God says it is between a man and a woman. And that's why we're here because same-sex marriage is against the will of God. So we're just preaching the word of God. Maybe some of those pastors that want to write their own Bible, that's what they're doing, they should start to read the word of God and see what God wants us to do," said Pastor Dennis Sallis, Hope Chapel Waikiki.
The group asked the governor and state lawmakers not to have a special legislative session to take up the same-sex marriage issue.
