Families in Leeward Oahu looking to receive medical clearance for their children to play sports this coming fall are invited to register for free sports physicals on two upcoming Saturdays at Nanakuli High and Intermediate School.
The event will be held this Saturday, July 20 and next Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.
Students should bring a school ID and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Volunteers will be on site to help parents/guardians complete necessary Department of Education (DOE) and medical forms.
The exam given on Sports Physical Day only provides the clearance necessary to participate in competitive schools sports at school.
This screening should not replace the student's annual visit to their doctor. If any medical conditions are found to be of concern during the screening, a referral to a primary care provider will be given by the volunteer doctors.
The first day of school is on Monday, August 5.
To sign up for the free sports physicals, call (808) 668-5832 or (808) 668-5823.
