Hawaii Island firefighters got the call around 8:45 p.m. Saturday about a home on Ainalako Road in Hilo.
When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames spreading to nearby trees and heavy brush.
Just before 9:30 p.m. crews had the fire under control, the fire was put out at 10:45 p.m.
Officials determined the home to be a total loss with damages estimated at $200,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
