The first day of deliberations ended without a verdict in the murder trial of Toby Stangel.
Stangel is accused of killing 54-year-old Tammy Nguyen, injuring two others as well as firing shots at Honolulu Police officers during a 2011 freeway shooting.
Stangel's attorney never disputed his client shot the victims, but argued he was not in the right state of mind at the time to be held accountable for his actions.
The jury will continue deliberations on Thursday.
If convicted, Stangel faces life in prison.
