Dave Shoji agrees to contract extension

The immediate future of the UH Rainbow Wahine volleyball program is locked up as sources tell KHON2 that head coach Dave Shoji has agreed in principal to an extension, taking his contract through the 2017 season.

Shoji had told KHON2 last week he was returning through at least this season. Pending approval from the Board of Regents, the 68- year-old coach will be on the Manoa campus through at least his 43rd season.

In NCAA Division I women's volleyball, Shoji ranks second all-time in career wins, behind Penn State's Russ Rose, with an 1,150-196-1 record.
