The Kailua Satellite City Hall, at 1090 Keolu Drive, will close permanently at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
The closure is a result of the City's projected budget shortfall for this fiscal year.
"After careful study, the closure is fiscally prudent and the Kailua staff will be relocated to other full-service locations to decrease the wait time for the public," said Sheri Kajiwara, director of the Department of Customer Services. The number of transactions at the Kailua office averaged 16 customers per hour, which is low in comparison to other Satellite City Halls.
The nearest Satellite City Hall at Windward City Shopping Center, is a full-service office that provides driver license renewal service.
Kailua area customers are encouraged to use online services and the mail where possible.
