An 8-year-old boy is in serious condition after falling down a trash chute in Kalihi Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at the Towers at Kuhio Park, formerly known as Kuhio Park Terrace, located on Linapuni Street.
According to Honolulu Police, the parents of the boy asked him to take out the trash. The boy somehow got inside the trash chute and fell down 12 floors.
When the parents of the boy realized he was missing, they began searching the building. Residents heard noise coming from the trash bin, where police later found him.
The boy was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.
