Big Island police are asking for the public's help in locating a sex assault suspect in Kona.
Authorities say an adult female was walking on Loloku Street at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her from behind, punched and dragged her off the road, and sexually assaulted her.
He was last seen fleeing in the mauka direction on Loloku Street.
The victim sustained scratches and bruises.
The suspect is described as a local male in his 30s, possibly homeless, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 200 pounds with medium-length wavy dark hair.
