A Big Island man is facing attempted-murder charges after police say he shot another man with a spear gun.
The incident happened at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday on Leilani Avenue in Pahoa.
Police say a fight occurred when a 49-year-old man shot a 20-year-old man.
The victim was taken to the Hilo Medical Center in critical condition.
According to police, a 61-year-old woman was also hurt in the confrontation. She was taken to the Hilo Medical Center and was later released.
Officers arrested the 49-year-old man for second-degree attempted murder.
He is being held in the police cellblock while detectives continue their investigation.
