Hawaii Island police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery in Pepeekeo.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, when a masked man pointed what appeared to be a handgun at two tellers of the Hamakua Coast Community Federal Credit Union and demanded cash.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Kris Villasista of Honomu turned himself in at the Kona Police Station just after 6 p.m. Thursday. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, theft, and terroristic threatening.
Villasista was moved to the Hilo police cellblock where he remains in custody while police continue the investigation.
The first runner to cross the finish line of the 2013 Honolulu Marathon was Gilbert Chepkwony who finished in 2:18:47.
