Hawaii Senators Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono were at Sundays rare Senate session.
They weighed in on the congressional impasse.
"It's time to reopen the government, to pay our bills, to ensure the full faith and credit of the United States and to return to the negotiating table to all of the challenges in front of us," Sen. Schatz said.
"We need to open the government and avoid a totally manufactured catastrophe, lets get on with it," Sen. Hirono said.
If no deal is reached by Thursday, the government will go into default.
