Coast Guard and Honolulu fire crews are at Ala Hao Place near Sand Island Access Road investigating a possible chemical spill.
They got the call, around 11 a.m.
Those on scene say part of a nearby stream has turned into a milky white color.
Officials took a sample to the state Department of Health office to figure out what the substance is in the stream.
No injuries were reported.
