A 2-year-old girl has died after she was rushed to the hospital after being pulled from waters off Sand Island Access Road Monday afternoon.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the incident was reported at about 4 p.m. when the child was found floating about 50 yards off shore.
Fire officials say a bystander in a boat brought the child to the marina and administered CPR.
The child was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Police say the child died at the hospital.
About 40 students got sick and 25 of them, along with two adults, were taken to the hospital. Officials are now taking a look at what they ate for lunch.
It may be the season of giving, but unlike years past, the giving spirit is in short supply this year. The Salvation Army says donations at its Red Kettles are down by nearly one-third and it's not alone.
