The National Weather Service has canceled a Flood Advisory that had been posted for the Leeward side of Oahu.

Heavy showers were reported starting at about 8:30 Tuesday morning, but by 10:30 a.m. the showers had subsided.

At the same time, forecasters say a cold front is approaching Kauai and Niihau with strong wind gusts. They say a line of heavy showers with local wind gusts over 40 mph will accompany the cold front during the morning hours. Behind the front...winds will shift to the west and northwest and remain rather gusty with showery weather through the remainder of the day.

Strong winds have prompted Wind Warnings for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island, and a Wind Advisory for Haleakala on Maui. These are in effect until Wednesday morning.

There's also a High Surf Warning through Thursday for north and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai and Oahu, and the north facing shores of Molokai and Maui.

There's a High Surf Advisory for west shores of the Big Island.

Forecasters say surf heights will be 18 to 22 feet Tuesday on north and west facing shores of Niihau and Kauai and north facing shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui. Surf will rise rapidly tonight to 25 to 35 ft, and will peak Wednesday before diminishing through Thursday.

Surf along the west facing shores of Oahu and Molokai will be 10 to 15 feet Tuesday...rising to 18 to 22 feet in the evening.

Seems there came along a "a professional baker" and made bread for someone who wanted to eat a "foot long" sandwich.
