News spread fast online this morning about the death of a fixture in Hawaii's social media community.

Family and friends say 44-year-old Ryan Suenaga died when he fell during a hike on the Olomana Trail.

Suenaga was a well-known blogger, and Twitter user, who even tweeted about his hiking trip on Sunday.

He blogged about his experience with diabetes and how he lost 80 pounds by bicycling, running, and playing basketball.

Online posts today talk about how he inspired others with his message and used it to meet people across the nation. He was also a social worker at Kaiser Permanente.

Suenaga was hiking with friends when he got separated from them and fell to his death.
