Kirk Matthews has been an anchor/reporter for KHON2 for the past 20 years. He graduated from Oregon College of Education in 1969 and worked in Portland radio and television until 1983 when he moved to Hawaii with his wife, Linda Coble. He has been co-anchoring Hawaii's Morning News for the past six years.

Kirk has a deep interest in the education of Hawaii's young people and is constantly looking for success stories in that area. He is an avid reader, amateur musician and even more amateur golfer.
